Rule

Use the present simple for habits and facts. Add (s / es) to the verb with (he / she / it).

Examples

• I read a book every day.
• She goes to school by bus.
• Water boils at 100°C.

Exercise 1: Fill in the blanks

1. He (play) football on Friday. → plays
2. They (study) English. → study
3. My mother (cook) lunch. → cooks
4. We (watch) TV at night. → watch

Exercise 2: Make it negative

1. She likes coffee. → She does not like coffee.
2. They play tennis. → They do not play tennis.

Tip

Use (do / does) for questions: Does she like coffee?
